"La cruauté se noue" is a new work by composer Lukas Hövelmann-Köper, which I premiered with pianist Iwan Evans in the fall of 2025. The text is taken from a work by French surrealist poet Paul Éluard, and the work itself includes half-tones, free time, straight tone, and moments of whispered text.
This performance was part of a concert series hosted by program Accademia Vocale Lorenzo Malfatti. The aria, “Quando m’en vo’”, comes from Puccini’s opera La bohème. Pianist: Dean Williamson
